During my education and early experiences, I learned the principles of sound computer science.During my career, I built upon that foundation in various directions, including databases, applications, websites, utilities, system integration, and data analyses.Highlights include:• Descriptive analytics: An original combination of disparate data yielded more nuanced insights about money leaving the organization. Resulted in two strategic projects to increase fund retention.• Dashboard design: Clear yet comprehensive examination of customers’ participation rates in e-delivery offerings (dissected by public demographics and proprietary dimensions) led to three campaigns that increased participation.• Data integration: Tech lead and architect of team that aligned seven manual processes and three systems (including Salesforce) into a single ETL-populated datasource, and designed tailored datamarts for four teams’ differing needs. Provided more useful details to stakeholders and new summaries to executives. Reduced data lag from one week to two hours, and monthly manual effort from 8 days to 5 hours.• Self-service reporting: Created a correspondence tool that enables business customization without IT development, and which integrates with CICS legacy app and retirement benefits calc engine. Over 700k personalized letters sent to date.• Self-service analytics: In Cognos and in Tableau, established framework for business teams to safely yet flexibly query and analyze enterprise data sources. Rolled out to 16 teams to date, including training and support.• Data governance: Designed and implemented data governance and security policies for safe and productive use of Tableau and Cognos. Encompasses data ownership, access procedures, and software license inventory management.• Systems architecture: Designed comprehensive plan to replace the aging content-generator that’s embedded within a key external website. Evaluated and presented alternatives and recommendations for architecture, hardware, software, personnel, cost & work estimates. Conducted proofs, built the team, and got buy-in from executives and stakeholders.• Reporting administration: 9 integrated systems; 17 databases; 600 users; 950 reports; 350,000 report runs per year• Regulated environments: ERISA, SIFI, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA
