As the Production Manager, I play a critical role in Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE program. I manifest six youth productions annually through the KIDSTAGE philosophy of “Skills for Theatre…Skills for Life," maintaining the highest standards for both the process of producing and the production quality itself, and strives to meet budget goals. I provide support throughout the Youth Education department including occasional KIDSTAGE class support (including taking phone registrations and answering questions from time to time about classes) and on-site coverage as scheduled.Throughout the year, I help decide the KIDSTAGE production season, which include the Fall and Spring KIDSTAGE productions, SummerStock, Summer Independent (mentor manager), and KIDSTAGE Troupe, as well as the Sing It Forward fundraiser, KIDSTAGE Originals readings (if scheduled), and the summer production class.Specifically, as Production Manager, I manage and execute all aspects of KIDSTAGE productions including show selection, hiring, facility scheduling and oversight, educational design, production meetings, auditions, casting, communication with cast, students and families, coordination and leadership of the creative team and marketing support. Additionally, recruit student technical crew, mentors, designing the tracks for students participating in the Technical Theatre Program (TTP) and Internship program and overseeing mentorship, load-in/strike and various other tasks to meet the high standards of KIDSTAGE production program.

Kamiak High School Performing Arts Center, Mukilteo, Wa

During my Sophomore year of high school, I was the assistant stage manager for all of the Drama Department's productions. I also served as the choral and orchestral stage manager, assisting in set-up and tear-down of their concerts as well as running any necessary sound and lighting effects they needed.Then during Junior and Senior years, I served as the Production Stage Manager for all of the Drama Department's productions. I also served once again as the choral and orchestral stage manager, helping with set-up and tear-down of each concert, along with creating rep plots for lighting and sound.After graduation, I have been invited back each December to stage manage the Performing Arts Department's annual joint choral and orchestral Christmas concert, called "The Messiah and Holiday Classics Concert." I coordinate with the volunteers and student crew members in order to choreography large set-up before the concert, the scene change between choir and orchestra sets, and the tear-down after the concert. Due to its popularity and production size, the concert has since moved to the Everett Civic Auditorium.

I was offered a Stage Management Internship at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre to help stage management, the production team, cast, crew, and administration with their upcoming productions. My internship ran for two months. As a Stage Management Intern, I worked directly with the stage management team of specific 5th Avenue productions as a production assistant during pre-rehearsal, rehearsal, tech and performance. Duties will include rehearsal setup and strike, taking blocking notes, tracking paperwork, and running shows.As a Stage Management Intern at The 5th Avenue Theatre, I assisted with all aspects of the theatre's remount of "A Christmas Story: The Musical." I was a sort of Production Assistant, assisting the stage management team, production team, cast, crew, directing team, as well as theatre administration with various tasks behind-the-scenes and backstage during the run of the show.I also assisted during Prep Week for The 5th Avenue Theatre's next production: "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel." As the run of "A Christmas Story" started to close, I assisted the stage management team in preliminary prep for "Carousel," from making copies of scripts and scores to other paperwork.

I was the recipient of a Stage Management Fellowship at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in Connecticut following my participating in The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Washington, D.C. April 15-19, 2014. Among the nine national stage management award winners selected by The Kennedy Center from the eight regions across the country, I received a summer fellowship from The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center General Manager to work with the stage management staff on the organization's summer programs, including the National Playwright Conference, National Music Theatre Conference, and the Cabaret & Performance Conference. My fellowship ran from June through August 2014.

I was an employee of the College of Fine and Performance at Western Washington University, specifically as a house manager. I managed the house and audience for each show that performs in a CFPA facility, making sure everyone found their seats, has everything they need, started and ended each show at reasonable times, and ensured the safety and enjoyment of the audience who came to see each show.I utilized the skills I learned while stage managing as a house manager, such as ensuring timely starts and finished for each show, keeping audiences calm, happy, and safe, and keeping the auditorium organized and running as efficiently and professionally as possible.
