I'm a Temple University alumna with a M.S. in Strategic Advertising and Marketing, a B.S. in Public Relations, and a minor in Public Health. I’ve found that PR is a great fit for me because it encourages creativity through writing and communicating — three things I value greatly. I also enjoy poetry and blog writing in my free time. The foundation of the PR curriculum at Temple allowed me to eagerly apply my knowledge while interning in the Franklin Institute's Public Relations department and in Independence Blue Cross's (IBX) Corporate Communications department. Both Philadelphia-based companies have been essential in developing my love for the industry and have expanded my understanding of PR in the professional realm. These opportunities have equipped me with the skillset to head a Delaware County, PA campaign for sexually abused children as a Public Awareness intern at Family Support Line. This amazing opportunity eventually led me back to IBX as a full-time Digital Communications Specialist in the Corporate Communications department. It also allowed me to return to Family Support Line to serve as a Board Member and join the External Affairs Committee as one of my membership duties.In conducting PR for these companies, I found an interest in digital marketing and advertising as well, which led to obtaining an M.S. in Strategic Advertising and Marketing. I look forward to bridging these fields and fueling my passions for learning, writing, and communicating creatively.
