Supported and assisted engineers in the design and manufacture of combat and weapon systems. Assisted in developing systems, requirements, components, and detailed designs creating 3D renderings using SolidWorks® for submarines and propulsion platforms. Projects involved entry-level engineering analysis including determining stress and collapsing pressure utilizing Roark’s Equations and performing buoyancy calculations. Used MS Excel to perform hundreds of calculations in an efficient manner. Reverse engineered a Mast Test Set for a Type 18 periscope, updated design with current technology, and created a drawing package enabling the manufacture of the Mast Test Set. Analyzed Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Mk 32 to eliminate welding.

Supported and assisted Facility Engineers involved in various building and center upgrades, renovations, construction projects. Assisted in performing entry-level engineering analysis and monitoring of the various campus utility and building systems in the support of the Energy, Operations and Maintenance groups. Performed tasks under supervision of an experienced Engineer. The Engineering Office supports the University's mission by enhancing the quality of the engineered systems on campus. These systems include the mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems within buildings, the various University-owned campus utility systems as well as public utility systems serving the campus. The Engineering Office is setting up and operating a web-based, campus-wide metering system for status monitoring and metering of electrical consumption for most buildings. This system is also being configured to monitor flow rates and energy consumption of high temperature hot water, chilled water and natural gas utilities for selected buildings.
