I grew up on a farm and a part of me has always wanted to live the farm life. I wanted to start up some side-hustles that would provide healthy, organic, permaculture produce for me and my family as well as stream of income in the long run. We are teaching our home-schooled children about entrepreneurship and farm-to-fork living. After my last contract ended, I took some time off to do the research and get going with microgreens, medicinal & culinary mushroom cultivation as well as getting the chickens and building their coop and fenced-off area. I wish I could just continue growing plants and fungi, fermenting and sprouting and farming at small scale but at this point it is a hobby that is costing money rather than generating money so I have to go back to work to enable my projects to expand and to fund my next foray which is hydroponic and aquaponic vegetable gardening.My wife has been documenting our experiments here: https://www.instagram.com/thetiredtractor/

I report directly to the Head of Software Engineering. I am responsible for leading the development team and defining the technical vision for the entire project. I work collaboratively with the client/stakeholders to ensure that they are aligned to the technical vision and strategy.I support, guide and mentor the development team to ensure the project is delivered on time and to the clients specification. I develop and build relationships with other 3rd parties and key stakeholders/ clients. Establish and maintain regular and effective communication with key stakeholders (team included). I Managed and provided technical leadership for 3 teams of Architects, Analyst Developers, Developers and Programmers using C#, Java, T-SQL.I did Solutions Architecture for high volume, high performance online and batch processing systems.I coached and mentored 2 team leaders whom I hired as developers. This was my greatest achievement ever if lasting impact is the measurement.I have done extensive interviewing and hiring for my own and other teams. During the last year I focussed on DevOps and automation evangelism. My final contribution was the design and development of a JSON command line driven test data provisioning and automation framework for test automation. Ansible, Puppet or Chef would have been able to perform most of the functionality, however since a Linux server was not an option, I rolled my own in C#. One component of this system was from the ground up middleware to enable command line execution of core banking system transactions to simulate transactions triggered by a client interaction.
