The USC Department of Physics and Astronomy manages two of the most prestigious and longest running solar projects in the world; one theoretical, the other, run from the 60’ Solar Tower, experimental. In addition, the Department provides both general education laboratory level classes and advanced degree classes.* Supervised general education laboratory sessions for both physics and astronomy undergraduates.* Assessed and graded lab work, class homework, and exams.* Conducted office hours, offering consultation to students on laboratory and class related issues.

The USC Residential Life program actively educates, selects, and monitors advisors for the over 8,000 students living in University housing each year. Advisors are initially trained as paraprofessional counselors, and then attend biannual retraining sessions.* Oversaw 30-50 students per year, arranged extracurricular programming, counseled residents, disciplined when necessary.* Acted as a liaison between students and the University. * Obtained position through a competitive selection process.
