Underwriting Strategy, new business and oversight• Underwriting lead within the business planning group charged with ensuring the effective co-ordination and delivery of the SBF/SCR/ORSA to Lloyd’s in a timely manner.• Responsible for analysing and providing robust challenge to annual planning and strategic underwriting for 5 divisions with circa $1bn GWP on behalf of the DOU. Business Planning, Monitoring and analysis • Responsible for management of the Syndicate relationship with Lloyd’s Performance Management Directorate. Lead negotiations of the annual business plan and amendments.• New business initiatives to board• Monitor and manage performance against plan through in-house data and Lloyd’s returns – QMA, QMB, PMDr• Effective coordination of pricing, capital, operations, reinsurance, actuarial resources for the analysis and presentation of new business initiatives and regional plans.• Setting of the Quarterly premium ultimates by class. Quarterly analysis of the GAAP P&L by division with reporting to CEO and Management committees.• Monitoring of premium income and performance against plan. Regular reviews and working with the underwriters and analysts to suggest corrective action. • Manage the independent expert review process including quarterly challenge at board sub-committee.• Expenses planning, managing budgets for costing of projects Corporate and MI• Oversight and delivery of structured and ad-hoc MI through the creation of dashboards for use by Underwriting divisions and Management including market • Lead role in key corporate initiatives – e.g. lead a diligence team to review the strategic suitability of a potential purchase of a Lloyd’s managing agency. • London contact for Rating Agency matters – AM Best, Moody’sMember of LMA market group on overseas development
