Starting his career at KPMG in 1987, Ajith moved to Aitken Spence PLC in 1988. Starting off in Internal Audit and moving into Thread Manufacturing, Insurance and Printing divisions, Ajith rapidly rose through the ranks to become Chief Accountant in the Printing Cluster.In 1992 he joined the Financial Services sector as Investments Manager at CKN Fund Management , which was a Joint venture between John keels Holdings , NDB , Central Finance PLC and Templeton Fund Management . Ajith moved into the Apparel Industry in 1996 as The CFO of Bodyline, part of the MAS Group.After a two year stint as General Manager at Growth Lanka, he joined The Hirdaramani Group in October 2000 as CEO/Director to set up Kenpark Bangladesh (www.kenpark-bangladesh.com) Ajith was promoted as the Managing Director/CEO of Kenpark in January 2017 and took over Regency which was part of the Hirdaramani Group (www.regencybd.net) in June 2017 and now overlooks the combined Business as Managing Director/CEOAfter successful 20 years in Bangladesh Ajith relocated to Srilanka and took over South Asia Textile Limited as Managing Director/ CEO on the 2nd of November 2020After a quick turnaround and the Subsequent Sale of SAT to Hayleys PLC Ajith again took over the responsibilities of Hirdaramani Bangladesh operations as Managing Director / CEO from 1st June 2021.In February 2023 Ajith was appointed Joint Managing Director for Hirdaramani Apparel A Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, he was elected twice to the CIMA national council while in Sri Lanka. He has extensive Executive Education in Management and Leadership from Harvard University, Wharton Business School, Michigan University and INSEAD.
