I am Ajitkaran Singh, a dedicated Civil Engineering Technology student at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, specializing in Construction Management. My academic journey is complemented by a certification in AutoCAD, marking the beginning of my deep dive into the world of architectural design and engineering.My proficiency spans across several drafting software's, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit, which I have leveraged extensively throughout my coursework and projects. My technical skills extend to professional construction estimations, a key aspect of my education where I have excelled in two distinct courses. Utilizing industry-standard tools such as ProEst, I have adopted the role of an estimator, developing precise cost assessments that drive project feasibility and execution.Surveying is another area where I bring practical knowledge, adeptly using tools like Total Stations to capture accurate site data crucial for effective project planning and execution. My hands-on experience was further enhanced during a summer internship at an Exteriors company, where I focused on residential construction and the building envelopes. I undertook a comprehensive study into the airtightness of various air barriers used in residential buildings, my research culminated in the testing and creation of three distinct wall assemblies for my Capstone project, which not only honed my research skills but also deepened my understanding of building envelope systems.Overall, my academic and practical experiences have equipped me with a robust foundation in drafting, materials testing, and surveying, alongside a thorough understanding of building systems.
