My name’s Aleja (“Uh-lay-hah") and I work towards open, inclusive, and just decision-making about technology. I currently do that as a public servant for the City of Boston, where I direct the tech governance and policy programs for the Department of Innovation & Technology. At a high level, this means developing better ways for city government to make decisions about and operationalize its use of technology. In practice, I help stand up and refine pilots to help make cross-department decision-making about technology procurement and deployment easier, effective, and ethical.I'm fresh out of a grad program at MIT where I studied technology policy with a focus on data governance. Prior to that, I've had a classically eclectic Millennial job history, but consistently sharpened my skills as a thinker, doer, and teammate with diverse teams across 2 continents and 5 cities. I work best with organizations and collaborators that value integrity, inclusion, humility, and humor.
Listed skills include Project Management, Organizational Design, Organizational Development, Teaching, and 12 others.
