About Ajmal Ramyar
As the Executive Director of Afghans for Progressive Thinking (APT), I lead a youth-led nonprofit organization that promotes human rights and educational opportunities in Afghanistan. For over four years, I designed, evaluated, monitored, and supervised projects that foster a culture of peace, tolerance, and critical thinking among Afghan youth. I also established and maintained partnerships with government and nongovernmental organizations, raised funding, and developed organizational policies.I am a member of the Sustainable Development Goals 4 Youth Network (SDG4), a global platform for students and youth education advocates to take action on SDG4 and engage in shaping global education policies. I have represented Afghan youth at the United Nations, amplifying their voices and perspectives on both national and international stages. My passion for empowering the next generation has also driven me to manage an elementary school for internally displaced children in Northern Afghanistan, providing them with education and hope under the most challenging circumstances. My expertise lies in strategic planning, program development, and international advocacy, underpinned by a deep commitment to advancing educational opportunities and human rights, especially for young Afghan women both in Afghanistan and abroad. I am always looking to connect with like-minded professionals and organizations to expand educational programs and advocate for the rights and opportunities of Afghan youth worldwide.
