Care for and advocate the daily skills and needs of individuals with special needs. I am the respite care provider for my brother; he has Down Syndrome. My job is to provide a resting period for my mother who is his primary guardian. I help him learn daily skills and repeat those skills until he is able to do them on his own. I also have a commitment to teaching the public about individuals like my brother and bringing him into the spotlight more often. I am certified in First Aid/CPR and take an annual training course to be up-to-date on medication delivery, incident reporting, and rights of an adult individual with special needs.
