Since January 2017, focussed on the supply chain side of Commerce with the introduction and ongoing evolution of IBM Supply Chain Insights, designed to guide the business user through the entanglement of data that is their supply chain. The move to Supply Chain was a natural progression from the world of WebSphere Commerce. In that organization over an 11 year period, I managed various portions of the product, from the Incubator stage (Component Foundry), Store Models, Contracts, Analytics, Promotions, Marketing, Catalog, Content, Workspaces and Database. Why WebSphere Commerce? It was a change from the pure technical implementation work in Compilers, Runtime libraries, VisualAge for Java and the Eclipse Workbench, Business Process Management (BPM) tooling, and it was a return to where I started with retail systems at Sears Canada, Sears Roebuck and EDS Canada. And now, after retiring from IBM, it's back to Commerce within the HCL organization.
