About Andrew Pinkerton

My research interests cover many areas of laser material processing, including, laser direct metal deposition and cladding for manufacturing and repair, high quality laser welding, laser processing of aerospace alloys, laser processing of bio-compatible structures, and modelling of laser processes, both analytically and numerically. My goal is to continuing developing application of laser processes in collaboration with industry and academic partners in the UK and overseas. Lancaster has a new IPG fiber laser with robot mounted process optics and other facilities so please get in touch.
