I was a specialist in traffic and transportation planning and engineering, particularly the detailed design of traffic signal controlled junctions. I was also responsible for numerous feasibility studies and preliminary designs. I led teams developing detailed designs for new and improved traffic signal junctions including both MOVA and SCOOT. I provided a high level of expertise in the preparation of traffic signal controller specifications and the implementation and validation of MOVA, including on complex signal controlled roundabouts.I used my substantial experience in modelling traffic using both microsimulation and conventional techniques to develop great solutions. I extensively used traffic signal modelling tools including TRANSYT and LINSIG. He applies the understanding from modelling to design including the development of optimal control strategies. My high level of expertise in microsimulation modelling using VISSIM, enabled me to complete several large and innovative modelling projects as well as numerous smaller models.I took responsibility for managing projects and co-ordinating the input of a range of staff, including providing training, across various offices to ensure the delivery of solutions.
