From 2017-2020 I served as the EPA Executive Lead for research on Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), a large class of chemical contaminants of growing worldwide environmental concern. Our team uses the best available science to evaluate risks from chemicals currently existing in the market. This enables EPA to make sound chemical risk management decisions as part of the Agency's implementation of the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA). This was a three month assignment as a senior US Government scientist working for the US Department of State, Regional Environmental Science, Technology, and Health hub office in Budapest Hungary, I spent one month each in Hungary, Slovakia and Macedonia exchanging information with government and academic officials on climate change-forest interactions. Led the Forest Service's Forest Inventory and Analysis program through a transformation into a nationally consistent and continuous system for measuring and reporting on status and trends in the Nation's forested ecosystems. I led and managed the National FIA Program for 7 years, leading some 400 federal employees across 7 locations in conducting a scientifically rigorous survey of America's forested resources.

During my tenure with the US Forest Service, I served on many international assignments as a collaborator and adviser in the areas of national and sub-national scale forest ecosystem inventory, monitoring, and assessment.
