I am a neuroscience PhD working in Dr. Todd Constable's lab at Yale University School of Medicine. My research focuses on developing methods for mapping neural circuits to clinical phenotypes using fMRI-based predictive modeling. This work has implications for improving the precision of psychiatric diagnoses and informing treatments. Previously, I spent 7 years as a researcher at UCSF conducting research both at the Neuroscape Center and the Memory and Aging Center. While at Neuroscape, I researched and developed techniques for enhancing cognition in healthy and clinical populations. These approaches involved utilizing biofeedback and closed-loop algorithms coupled with physical exercise, meditation, and video game training to improve attention and memory. During my first couple of years, my role was primarily to manage and coordinate projects. More recently, my responsibilities involved much more software engineering, signal processing, and analyzing neuroimaging and physiological data to show that our methods of improving cognition were effective. The work I did at Neuroscape has resulted in numerous publications in prestigious journals, and helped guide the development of the world's first FDA-approved video game for improving attention in ADHD. With the Memory and Aging Center, I studied sleep abnormalities in neurodegenerative diseases, with the intention of identifying sleep-related biomarkers that can help detect disease early on in its progression and inform precision treatments.Outside of academic research, I also have experience doing data science consulting with translational psychiatric research organizations conducting clinical trials.
