I am a shareholder (partner) at Greenberg Traurig and an intellectual property attorney counseling on all forms of IP, focusing on computer- and electronics-implemented tech from networking and NLP to devices, digital health, life sciences AI, and computational biology. I leverage my prior experience as a software engineer overseeing product development and rollout to ensure my advice is tailored to each client’s unique products and business plans. To help my clients weigh all options, my IP counseling runs the gamut from open source policy through to patent and trade secret, including protecting rights, licensing, diligence, enforcing/litigating, and defending against infringement accusations. I have both successfully invalidated bogus software patents asserted against my clients, and successfully defended software patents I wrote and prosecuted from being invalidated by competitors. I’ve been named one of the top "Under 40" IP attorneys in Massachusetts multiple years running and was top-recommended patent attorney in a recent survey of over 1,000 Boston-area startups.My clients build products in a range of fields, from fundamentals like operating systems and networks, to applications like machine learning, natural language processing, speech recognition, and fintech. I have a particular focus on life sciences and medtech products like digital health, healthcare AI, med device, and bioinformatics/computational bio, and serve on the board of a regional medtech industry group.
