I’m Coach AJ Munoz, founder and head coach of AJTS, your place for adaptive strength and conditioning education and programming. With almost a decade of experience in the fitness industry, my focus turned toward the amazing world of adaptive sports in 2018. As the interim director and head S&C coach for SDSU Adapted Athletics, I have had the opportunity to work with elite and aspiring elite athletes both as students and in the community. These athletes have been chosen for regional, national, and International competitions because they believe in the process that works and have continued to find their true strength.True strength for me can mean many things. True strength can be what motivates you to get to your 5am workout everyday. It can be the difference between believing in yourself to complete the first set and the last, but it can also be the driving force that compels you to always strive to be greater than you were yesterday.At AJTS we want to make sure the adaptive trainers, athletes, and other support staff in the San Diego area and beyond have access to high level material to make the most effective gains in their training, injury prevention, and sports performance goals. We work with a wide variety of adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, para surfing, para track and field, and much more. If we haven’t worked with it, then it’s only because we haven’t had the opportunity YET!
