I am a master's student in Materials Engineering at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. During my studies, I worked in process engineering R&D, specifically focusing on the dry aerosol deposition (DAD) method, also known as vacuum kinetic spray (VKS) or aerosol deposition (AD). This method involves depositing dense, nano-crystalline dielectric ceramics and vacuum cold spray (VCS) metallic conductors. I am part of the only university group in the USA with expertise in DAD technology. In this position, I was responsible for designing and maintaining custom-built vacuum chambers, XYZ TinyG G-gcode stage movement, thick film deposition, thick film characterization, and vital lab safety precautionsMy work primarily involved using these materials to realize microwave components within the same DAD apparatus. Notably, I contributed to the development of a microstrip ring resonator, believed to be the first produced using the DAD process. Additionally, I provided training to other students on the DAD process and the operation of custom-built machinery. I also instructed students on the use of surface characterization, electronic, and other laboratory instruments, including an XRD machine and vector network analyzer.In addition to my training responsibilities, I am responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. I have also served as a mentor for a senior design course and worked as a Teaching Assistant for Materials II Lab.
