Andrey Karabanov is a design technologist and researcher focused on developing modular plug-and-play design systems for auto(nomous/mated) human-machine interaction.Before joining Antikythera he was a part of research and design collective LISA Foundation focused on preservation and innovation in public art, and has worked on design research briefs on data infrastructures defining new urban metabolic models and the emergent evolution of synthetic intelligence as part of The Terraforming think-tank at Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design.In 2020 Andrey co-founded an independent media co-operative publishing critical essays and reporting about future of the internet called Supernova. For this project, his creative output spanned from art direction and illustration to interface design and frontend web development.From 2019 to 2021, he worked at HSE University School of Media as Design Director, reworking internal org structures, building scalable design systems and establishing recognisable brand presence for a modern higher education brand.Andrey holds an MA in Communication Design and a BA in Journalism from Higher School of Economics University in Moscow.
