Akash Singh is a registered Chartered Accountant and has completed his MBA in strategic planning. He is the Chief Executive Officer (and Co-Founder) of Sigma International, a specialist advisory and implementation company focused on creating and catalyzing Purpose Driven Impact (economic & business, environmental social/communities, and people), with offices in South Africa and the USA. Akash has been a member of the Board of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry for approx. 10 years- as well as a Past President of the Durban Chamber (2013-2015). Akash is the current Chairperson of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Council Eastern Region. This places Akash at the forefront of local (and global) economic development for small, medium and large businesses in South Africa.Prior to joining Sigma International, Akash was the General Manager: Product at Nedcor (unsecured lending), as well as General Manager: Finance at BoE Bank. Prior to banking, he was a Dispute Analysis and Investigations Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Durban) where he had undertaken a series of investigations both in the private and public sector. Akash completed his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.Akash has extensive experience in business/ strategic plan development, business mentoring, business incubation, impact consulting/advisory and business development, coupled with strong commercial skills, particularly with regard to business turnarounds.He has trained/mentored in excess of 6 000 small, medium and large businesses on various practical subjects. Akash has been a representative to PUM, a Netherlands government retired expert programme, which provides global mentorship across 35 different countries . He was a past member of the Council of the South African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SACCI).
