The Founder City Project is building "An Ecosystem Skillset” in Toronto-Waterloo. We train startup/scale-up founders, executives, managers, employees, to interconnect through peer-learning groups, diversity and storytelling. Through Upteaming, we provide the first goal-achievement system for Teams. We started with 8 founders and within a year passed 200 founders. We now have over 1000 founders on our way to 10,000 founders. I’m in charge of making sure the important things don’t break.

My passion for the Start-up community and building a robust and inter-connected network in Toronto has manifested itself in the Founder City Project. My initial contribution comes in organizing the Founders and collecting relevant and very confidential information in order to formulate effective Forum groupings. This is what I call “cat interrogation” — it's one step beyond herding cats. I have been fortunate to have nurtured and developed a reputation and communication style within this community where colleagues are comfortable discussing and confiding about their most sensitive projects and relationships.I provide advisory around all aspects of the organization, from project formulation to execution.

Themeefy was a start-up enterprise focused on the education sector. Provided strategic, financial and governance oversight in creation, development and structuring of business. Was instrumental in moving business to NA and setting the business direction for new management team. Provided strategic advise and financial oversight that will the key to future success as it moves through early funding stages. Exit in late 2017.

Provide oversight of $20 million budget as Chair of Finance Committee and Treasurer. Oversaw the transformation to a balanced financial position from the deficit positions of the past and the first clean audit in organizational history. This was achieved by instituted strong controls that helped to bring financial prudence into strategic decision making. The transformation also helped to integrate financial strategic oversight with the overall strategic discussion. This was key in affecting goals and a change of culture.
