Included rigorous simulation of process equipment such as distillation column, main HF Alky reactor with recirculation, reaction modeling for reactor used in MEROX and process optimization of the complete process in parameters such as increased feed rate and change in type of VGO feed to FCCU and effluent LCO and HCO. • Also building a HMB for the entire MEROX to HF Alky Unit with corresponding PFD for Risk Management Plan (RMP) analysis.• Process simulation of Semi-Regenerative Catalytic Reformer Unit (Platformer), i.e. reactor modeling which included setting the design basis with defining parameters such as catalyst activity, definition of feed constituents (defined and hypothetical), equipment sizing based on design specifications. Process optimization included among many things, building a Start of Run (SOR) and End of Run (EOR) case to account for catalyst activity and its affect on reformate's specifications.• Process simulation of Exxon and Badger licensed BENZOUT unit, which included detailed design for reactor and specifically maintaining conversion ratio to reduce benzene content for environmental regulations.• Process simulation of Green Gas Unit (GGU) to account for reduction of diolefins present upstream which included rigorous modeling and design of the unit’s corresponding equipment.• Process simulation of Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Tail Gas Treatment Unit (TGTU) to account for sulfur recovery in sour crude wash streams.• Analyzing multiple flare load scenarios and accordingly sizing the flare header and stack.• Projects related to pump and line hydraulics and/or control valve sizing for feasibility analysis with different companies• Extensive literature studies on analyzing pressure relief scenarios; ASME Section 8 and API Standard 520 and 521
