About Akash Verma

Hello! My name is Akash Verma and I am a Sophomore at the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business currently studying Finance. I am a member of the Smith Business Leadership Fellows Program (SBLF) which is a Honors learning community of 65 like-minded first year business students who engage both in and out of the classroom in exploring the future of business and leadership. SBLF is 2 year program with specialized courses focused on exploring business, leadership and their connected role within society. - Through SBLF, I participated in a group consulting competition for the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship on campus. Through this experience, I learned how to research and ask the right questions to fully understand their problems. I worked closely with my group to come up with justified recommendations to address their issue. We ended up winning the competition, taking the first place certification.- Took specialized coursework: The Future of You, Business and Society, The Enterprising Leader, Oral Business Communications.etc.
