I have a wide variety of experiences helping people through teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and guiding people to the answers they seek. I am passionate about giving others the resources to succeed. I am a librarian with academic backgrounds in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Engineering Studies. Throughout my life, I have been an academic shape-shifter, a Renaissance person who strives to learn about a wide assortment of topics. My willingness to learn and explore has led me to a variety of positions throughout the United States and around the world. After a year of AmeriCorps service, I continue working in libraries in order to help people access and evaluate information. In libraries, everyday bring new users, information needs, services, spaces, and surprises, particularly in the areas of health literacy and engineering education. I draw from my experiences in public health and student affairs, as I serve as the inaugural Health Literacy Librarian at the Leon Levy Dental Medicine Library. I am pursuing my Master of Public Health degree at the Perelman School of Medicine. I previously was the inaugural Community Health & Engineering Librarian at the Holman Biotech Commons, where I was also honored to previously serve as the 2015 - 2017 Eugene Garfield Resident in Science Librarianship. I am also an advisor for Penn EduCare, a health literacy-focused student organization. Penn Walks 2 Wellness is a university-wide wellness initiative that I co-founded by winning the 2019 Your Big Idea Wellness Challenge. In 2019, the American Library Association New Members Round Table (ALA NMRT) recognized me as one of several Alternative Voices within the field of librarianship. In 2020, I returned to Rutgers as a Lecturer.
