About Ehsan Akbari

As a Senior Scientist at Penn Color, I manage and execute R&D projects targeted at developing functional additive masterbatches for various thermoplastics applications, including both new product development and optimization of current products with special emphasis on the latest technology in polymers and additives for plastics, polymer testing, and instrument technology.I have a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Toledo, where I developed and patented a new method to alter the rheology of fumed silica suspensions using nanoparticles. I also optimized and modeled the flow of biomass in an extruder for biofuel applications, in collaboration with a multi-functional team funded by the Department of Energy. I have multiple publications, certifications, and awards in the fields of rheology, polymer science, and green chemistry. I enjoy working in a team environment, designing new experiments, and exploring new science areas on multi-disciplinary projects.
