About Ake Ahonen

My 20 years journey across different roles in Supply Chain Management, Project and Program Management, IT Consulting and Agile Software Development, has led me to my current professional home as Head of IT&D Contract Logistics at DB Schenker. In my current role, I have already managed a successfull transformation of the team, from single country based teams to a international team based multiple locations. We are now as one team responsible for all Logistics Applications across the whole organisational cluster (23 employees for 13 countries). I also lead the decomisson of several legacy applications, lead the team doing the migrations to new software and manage the overall digital transformation of the Contract Logistics business. For this I work together with the Company Executive Board, responsible for the strategy on a corporate level. I very much enjoy the leading role, in bringing people together and motivating them in working towards a common organisational goal. I believe I manage to provide for the skilled IT employees around me unique opportunities to excell in their daily work.
