About Akella Chendrasekhar M.D.

As a Director of Surgery & Critical Care and a volunteer-surgeon in remote parts of the world, I’ve seen and managed some of the most complicated cases. As a clinician and administrator, I've led the transformation of a local trauma program into an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center at Richmond University Medical Center. As an educator, I've been commissioned by medical schools and hospitals around the world to devise surgical curricula and board review materials for over 20 years. An award-winning research scholar, I’m also perennially invited to present at the most prestigious international conferences on Surgery, Trauma and Critical Care. I'm currently a senior fellow at ACS, ACCP, and East. Most recently, I've teamed with Clinical Masters Inc, a company providing unrivaled board review by featuring board-certified clinicians with significant experience leading undergraduate and graduate medical education programs. ☁ I’ve prepared a video lecture series for Clinical Masters aimed at undergraduate and graduate medical students as well as practicing surgeons to better understand the principles and nuances of general surgery and ace their board exams (STEP 2 - Surgery, ABSITE, QE, MOC). These lectures reflect the latest in standard of care, providing the foundational knowledge necessary to become highly effective surgeons.☁ Still, my passions are teaching and mentorship. The next generation of surgeons should believe in the cultivation of clinical skill and scholarship. My work with Clinical Masters is my way of helping ingrain this culture into future surgeons. In my free time, I watch "Devon ki Dev", an acclaimed serial based on the Shiva Puran. Please reach out and connect with me on LinkedIn. I’m also available as a Chief Guest Speaker or Lecturer on all things Surgery, Trauma, and Critical Care, and you can forward proposals to akella.chendrasekhar@gmail.com.Specialties ⇨ General Surgery ⇨ Trauma ⇨ Critical Care ⇨ Public Speaking
