In 2009, Aaron attended the University of Pittsburgh to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies with a Studio Arts minor. During his undergraduate studies, he completed an internship for the firm of Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates - Architects. In the summer of 2011, Aaron received the Russian and Eastern European Studies Study Abroad Award, which allowed him to study 19th and 20th century architecture in Vienna, Zagreb, Rijeka, and Ljubljana.Upon graduation in 2013, Aaron was hired as an Intern Architect for the firm, Eckles Architecture, of New Castle, Pennsylvania.After some time in Europe, Aaron moved to Albuquerque to pursue his Master of Architecture degree at the University of New Mexico. In December of 2014, Aaron accepted the position of Energy Analyst Intern, for an internship with Vibrantcy in Albuquerque, NM.During his time at the University of New Mexico, Aaron has held ten graduate teaching assistant positions at the UNM School of Architecture and Planning. In August of 2016, the Office of Graduate Studies awarded Aaron with the Graduate Studies Excellence Assistantship.In the summer of 2016, Aaron was the recipient of the Schoeman Travel Endowment where he conducted independent research on Nordic healthcare architecture in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark; studying the correlation between energy efficiency and sustainable design, with an improvement in the indoor healing environment - ultimately shortening the patient’s recovery and improving the quality of work for the doctors and staff.During his final semester of the M.Arch program, Aaron accepted the position of Intern Architect / Energy Specialist, with Dekker/Perich/Sabatini in Albuquerque, NM. Within the office, he holds the position Director of Sustainability while leading a Building Performance Analysis Team of 18 and co-leading firm-wide Smart Building Technology and Digital Twin Innovation efforts.
