On the surface this job may seem like I get to play with kids all day. And I do. But more importantly, I am observing and measuring their behaviors to ensure that they are communicating functionally. I use different techniques to increase their communication skills in order to reduce and/or eliminate maladaptive behaviors that may be preventing them from playing with other kiddos. Overall, I am there to teach them how to play and work with others in the most functional way possible!
