My career has taken a bit of a curved path as it spans across Finance, Aerospace/Hi-Tech and Healthcare.As a young engineer, I took roles aligning with my passions for aerospace and electronics. I met many talented people who taught me the ropes and by working on space programs and radar systems, I gained skills involved in process and product development, quality control, and project management. Highlights included developing an obsolescence management system, Six Sigma, and SPC. The one thing that I found in common was the application of data to make decisions. When I decided to pursue my MBA, I focused on an area of business that required an analytical mindset which led me to pursue Finance and my CFA. This gave me a chance to gain experience in project accounting and financial modeling for capital projects. Also, I had the fortunate opportunity to develop market analysis reports for therapeutics for healthcare use cases.To diversify my industry experience, I found there was a need for data analytics in healthcare so I pursued my thesis on Telemedicine Adoption by Physicians and worked at Ontario Telemedicine in their data analytics group.These experiences led to my current role as Head of Finance and Business Operations for AmacaThera where I have been able to use my analytical approach to solve real-world business problems and support project management activities to deliver on-time and on-budget deliverables. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that I gravitate and thrive in roles where I feel I make a difference and add value.
