In this role, I conducted psychosocial and intake assessments with patients and their caregivers to understand their needs. I provided individual therapy for adolescents and teenagers, along with family therapy to support patients and their families. I ensured all documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans, met required standards. Additionally, I collaborated with the UR department to meet insurance requirements and worked closely with doctors and nurses to ensure effective care. I also created and implemented personalized clinical treatment plans to address each patient's unique needs.

I attended clinical seminars and leadership workshops covering a variety of topics related to neurodevelopmental disabilities, expanding my knowledge in the field. I facilitated an evidence-based social communication intervention for individuals in the community, focusing on improving communication skills. I also had the opportunity to serve as a peer mentor and evaluator for a social communication group for adults with autism, learning from both the participants and the multidisciplinary team of experts. Additionally, I conducted research in the neurodiversity paradigm in education and contributed to coding videos of culturally competent ABA therapies, further honing my skills and understanding of best practices in the field.

As an intern, I had the opportunity to provide individual mental health therapy to both adults and adolescents, using a trauma-informed approach and evidence-based interventions. I collaborated closely with a diverse team of interns, clinicians, and supervisors to ensure we delivered ethical and comprehensive care, while actively participating in case conceptualization and consultation. Passionate about continuous growth, I engaged in training and CE webinars focused on the latest research and trauma-centered approaches to enhance my practice. I also created a screener to track intervention progress and contributed to social media outreach, developing posts and organizing tasks within the social media team to raise awareness and foster community support.

As an MSW Intern at the Autism Society of Texas, I had the privilege of providing autistic individuals and their families with valuable resources to navigate the challenges associated with all levels of ASD. I approached every interaction with empathy, active listening, and open-ended questioning to ensure clients felt heard and supported. I conducted research and reached out to organizations that could provide additional resources, strengthening the support network for those I worked with. I also stayed informed by attending meetings and webinars on disability rights legislation and policy in Texas. Throughout my time, I maintained strong communication and collaboration with my supervisors, ensuring we delivered the best possible care to our clients.
