Tech Sales Design EngineerCrestron Electronics Aug 2003 - Mar 2006Rockleigh, Nj, UsCrestron is the de-facto standard for automation and control systems in the AV industry. While at Crestron, I provided design level support for dealers and consultants. Interfacing with customers everyday required my attention to giving exceptional and consistent customer support. Preparation of accurate multi-million dollar quotes were part of my everyday tasks. This required proficiency at reading and interpreting consultant and architectural drawings. I used AutoCAD to create functional system drawings which aided in systems design documentation. I also did in depth research on competing product lines to prepare comparison and contrast information useful during the requirements and specification phase for projects. I worked with an incredible group of talented and dedicated individuals... we played as hard as we worked, which made for an environment conducive to productivity and teamwork. -
Systems Design EngineerModern Mass Media / Smith Meeker Engineering Aug 2001 - Aug 2003Modern Mass Media (MMM) is where I transitioned all that I learned design-wise from mechanical engineering to audio/visual engineering. MMM's sister company, Smith Meeker Engineering (SME), is where I had my first taste of consulting and was able to begin to understand the A/V tri-fecta: consulting, manufacturing and integration. While at MMM/SME, I consulted on and designed audio/visual systems for corporate, university, church venue and residential applications. More specifically, I did detailed design, specification and CAD drawings of sound reinforcement systems, video/audio teleconferencing systems and presentation systems. To bring my designs full circle, I also spent time building and installing the systems I designed. I also learned to coordinate with relevant trades, such as architects, general contractors and electrical contractors. Finally, I got my first real experience with the integration of control and switching systems, such as Crestron and Extron.
