I am the Programme Director at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), a media technology and knowledge-producing think tank that supports and empowers the African media landscape. With a proven track record in leading multi-million dollar international development programs, I have managed democracy projects in countries such as Cameroon, Chad, Congo DR, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Niger Republic, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, The Gambia, and Uganda.I am passionate about using digital technology and innovative practices to foster transparency, accountability, and sustainable development. Some of the flagship initiatives I’ve pioneered include DUBAWA, Nigeria’s first fact-checking platform, and UDEME, a civic tech tool for tracking public procurement. My expertise lies in managing cross-sector collaborations, securing donor funding from organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, Mac Arthur Foundation, Open Society Foundation, Luminate, UNESCO, USAID, Meta, TikTok, and Google, and leading efforts to combat disinformation, conflict, climate change, and advance electoral accountability.I have convened workshops, conferences, and symposiums for over 5,000 researchers, journalists, civil society leaders, government representatives, digital opinion leaders, and students in 15 countries, including the UK and the U.S., equipping them with skills in digital tech, AI, policy advocacy, climate change, and investigative journalism.In addition to my work at CJID, I lead the VANA Institute (https://vantagenetworkafrica.org)—a knowledge laboratory that provides essential soft and hard skills training for young people to thrive in the 21st-century workplace. I also share personal reflections through my #YouWillNotFail blog, aiming to inspire growth and resilience in young people.I have studied in Nigeria, the UK, and the U.S. and have received numerous awards, including the UK Government Chevening Scholarship, the US government Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Ambassador, and the One Global Champion Award. I also serve on the advisory board of Plogging Nigeria and Poliz Nigeria.

Program Manager (Natural Resource Governance And Climate Change)Centre For Journalism Innovation And Development Jan 2019 - Jan 2022Abuja, Fct, NgAs program manager of the resource governance and extractives program of the centre for two years, I recorded the following achievements:Climate Change Program Growth: I led the establishment and expansion of our center's climate change program, achieving a remarkable 200% increase in its footprint within just two years.West African Expansion: Spearheaded the expansion of the climate change program into West Africa, where we are now active with more than 20 partners in the sub-region.Innovative Media Fellowship: Pioneered the first-ever indigenous climate change media fellowship in anglophone West Africa, collaborating with a team of 16 fellows comprising journalists, policy experts, and academic researchers.Media Innovation: Led the creation of three civic technology platforms to foster media innovation, resulting in a 50% increase in the number of media products produced by the organization over a three-year period.Research and Policy Impact: Published over 12 research documents and policy briefs, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods to address critical issues such as climate change, health, mining, corruption, and beneficial ownership in the extractive sector in Nigeria.Exposing Corruption: Launched the groundbreaking "forensic" journalistic investigation into the financial records of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Nigeria. This initiative led to the production of two research papers that exposed patterns of corruption and financial recklessness within the agency, involving a team of over 20 members across Nigeria.My dedication to driving positive change in the fields of resource governance, sustainability, and climate change has been fueled by a passion for impactful work and a commitment to achieving tangible results. -

Anglophone Africa Regional Coordinator, Open Climate Reporting InitiativeCentre For Investigative Journalism Apr 2022 - PresentLondon, GbI formerly held the position of overseeing the open climate reporting initiative for the British Centre for Investigative Journalism in Anglophone Africa. In this capacity, I managed various responsibilities including stakeholder and partner management, establishing networks, conducting assessments of training needs and subsequently delivering training, as well as providing project support, monitoring, and conducting evaluations. Working in close collaboration with regional partners, I organized training sessions, advocated for climate-related issues, and engaged in policy discussions to uncover and narrate stories related to climate change. My active involvement ensured the high-quality execution of training and other project components within each respective region.During my time as OCRI Regional Coordinator, I took the lead in establishing climate change reporting desks within 10 newsrooms across Nigeria and Ghana. Additionally, I provided substantial assistance in the publication of more than 130 specialized reports on climate change in 11 African countries. These countries included Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Lesotho, Eswatini, Southern Africa, Eswatini again, and Botswana. -
