I am a recent graduate of Duke University, where I majored in Political Science and double minored in English and Journalism. At Duke, I was a scholar with the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, a fully funded, merit-based collegiate experience. I also worked part-time as a student journalist at the 9th Street Journal and a summer intern at the Los Angeles Times.After graduation, I spent a summer at Newsday on Long Island, covering crime, courts, and police for a summer before settling at the Las Vegas Review-Journal as a full-time staff writer on the criminal justice desk. I am a Chips Quinn Scholar for Diversity in Journalism and have a special interest in print journalism, documentary work, law, and politics.
