About Aki Yoshida

Aki comes to architecture with an international lens having lived in Tokyo, London, Boston, Los Angeles and Honolulu. Her love for design, people, and the practice of architecture led her to the founding of Hamajang Studio.Aki excels in design collaboration with her effervescent leadership. She thrives on building consensus, trust, and confidence in her teams. Her process is driven by unique ability to understand complex problems and transform them into clear and intuitive solutions. She has worked on a broad scale of project types alongside clients such as Royal family of Kuwait, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Bank of Hawaii, and both domestic and international residential clients delivering projects that are on time, on budget, and aesthetically delightful. Aki is a licensed architect in the State of Hawaii and received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Masters in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. She has practiced architecture in Boston, Honolulu and on the Big Island of Hawaii. Aki’s passion for the profession has led her to become an advocate for Women and Minorities in Architecture. She volunteers her time engaging with AIA Honolulu serving on the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a member of NAIOP Hawaii developing leaders committee.
