I serve on the staff team at a vibrant, diverse, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in Milwaukee. In my role as a ministry resident, I serve alongside a variety of teams to meet the ministry goals for this year. I have the pleasure of participating in teaching and preaching ministry, congregational care work, and vital administrative duties to help teams function at their best to be a witness to the love of Jesus Christ in the city and the world.

As a Campus Staff Minister, I work to establish student movements on college and university campuses of students learning to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord and grow in love for God and His purposes in the world. My passion lies in planting and developing work at previously unreached campuses. I get the joy of doing this in my current position at Milwaukee Area Technical College, where I am equipping and training Christian students to lead mission-focused small group Bible studies and introduce their peers to the Gospel. My role also involves overseeing a team of volunteers who assist developing curriculum and who serve at our various conferences and events. I am excited to connect students at Milwaukee Area Technical College with opportunities to connect their future vocations with their faith by establishing contacts with organizations or individuals in the city who can provide mentoring and consulting to them as they prepare to enter the workforce after their years at MATC. I also engage with reaching out to the greater Milwaukee communities in order to create a wider network of financial partners and volunteers for the ministry.I love connecting with anyone who is interested in investing in this emerging generation of students who are finding/growing in their Christian faith in Milwaukee. In my role as a Case Management Assistant, I worked alongside a team of case managers and support staff to welcome and support new families entering the Joy House Program at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. I assisted in completing documentation with the families, orienting them to the program, and ensuring that they had been connected with the appropriate people and resources to continue their program at Joy House.

As a church planting intern, I worked alongside a team in the early stages of a multicultural church plant in the Shepherd's Bush neighborhood in London. In this role, I trained short-term teams from the United States coming to serve with the church. I also coordinated portions of a children's club and youth club event and participated in hosting events for the homeless community. Serge provided me with some of the best training I've received in understanding the transforming work of the Gospel and how it impacts how I disciple and mentor others. The opportunities I had in this role also increased my skills in public speaking and training. I also received training to increase my cultural competence and deeply appreciated the opportunity to work with and learn from individuals from many different backgrounds.

In this role, I facilitated meetings with parents and students, particularly regarding Individualized Education Plans. I met with students individually and in small group settings to address emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns and led classroom lessons to address both social and academic issues. My role provided a connecting point between the home, school, and community for the children I worked with. I am forever grateful for the experience and skills gained through this position. My role allowed me to be present with children and their parents during some of the most stressful times in their lives and it was meaningful to be a part of bringing some clarity and calm to the challenging situations and conflicts families had to work through. Being a part of a professional team at the school also grew my interpersonal and organizational communication skills and influences how I continue to work with professionals today.

In this role, I provided direct care in a residential treatment facility for youth with behavioral and emotional challenges. The role allowed me to teach and demonstrate a variety of skills to the youth in our area to help them be successful in daily living, social skills, and healthy management of emotions. I also served as a classroom aid and was responsible for detailed documentation to ensure the best care for our clients.
