Windows Fundamentals team is responsible for shipping build flights for PC and Phone; gathering all the diagnostics information including feedback, telemetry, bugs, crashes etc. from in-flight builds and fixing bugs/issues for next build flight.Key Contributions• Defining and implementing key business KPIs for WaaS to enable data driven product decisions. Analytical and business reporting of KPIs based off of Microsoft’s big data solutions (Azure Data Lake, Application Insights Analytics). • Implemented new user experiences in Feedback Hub – enabling offline mode, data collection as first tier UI constructs, long running trace to capture intermittent issues and enabling feedback drafts.• Built telemetry and diagnostic systems to enable engineers to collect diagnostic data for deep dive and issue resolution by targeting specific machines from 1Billon+ PCs. This would result in fixing at least 15% additional issues during the ship cycle. • Leading Service Maturity assessment effort. Window update is critical system which ensures Microsoft keeps Windows customers happy by shipping new features and protecting against security threats seamlessly. My team played a critical role in this process by providing a publishing pipeline which was used by Windows CXE release managers to ensure the right updates are promoted to the Windows update process. Publishing pipeline encompasses very rich backend services which hosted a large amount of metadata about the updates and a rich UX experience for review and promotion.Key contributionsWorked very closely with Partners teams (IE, .NET etc.) and publishing tools users for few weeks to understand their challenges, big pain points, time consuming areas in publishing pipeline and designed and implemented projects to alleviate their pain immediately.• Designed and Implemented project that is saving over 100+ man days per year of manual effort for our user team.• Designed and Implemented project that is saving on an average 500-600 mouse clicks for all our users. This project is also saving users on an average of 15 minutes to couple hours every month depending on complexity of their case.Responsibilities • Gathering requirements and formulating them into functional spec.
