Alexander Koenadi completed his final year of the Master of Architecture 3-year program at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2010. He received his B.S. in Computer Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After working as a website developer for about two years, Alex decided to pursue his passion since childhood: Architecture. He began his endeavor by pursuing a Master of Architecture degree at IIT in 2007. Alex's work experience at DeStefano + Partners (2008 AIA Chicago Firm of The Year) in 2008 included a 43-story residential tower in San Francisco and a 14-story bank headquarters in Amman, Jordan (a winning design competition). During his time at D+P, Alex was introduced to and quickly learned the new cutting-edge technology (Building Information Modeling) under the mentorship of Mark Schmieding, AIA, LEED AP. During the summer of 2010, Alex had an opportunity to apply his BIM knowledge while interning for an A/E firm, SSOE Group, where he pioneered the use of BIM at the firm’s Chicago office. Revit 2009 was used to deliver two of the three projects in its schematic design phases. During his time at SSOE group, Alex was involved in three different projects: a smokeless tobacco manufacturing facility, an automotive facility expansion, and a research lab facility. Alex collaborated with teams from different disciplines to coordinate construction document drawings. Alex has a wide range of design portfolio from his first three years of his studies and career in architecture. His architectural design studio projects include a precast concrete social housing, an urban agriculture center, a senior housing, lacrosse indoor and outdoor stadiums, and a mixed-use high-rise. In 2009, Alex was awarded by Precast Concrete Institute for the innovative use of precast concrete in his design studio project.Alex currently works at Solomon Cordwell Buenz in Chicago.Portfolio Website (last update in 2010):http://www.akoenadi.comSpecialties: Building Information Modeling (Revit); Highly proficient in:Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, 3DS Max Studio, SketchupPhotoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks; Experienced in:Rhinoceros, Maya, Dr. Frame, Ecotect, eQuest
