At Shadow Networks, I was the "other" department, meaning if it wasn't engineering or sales, it was me. I was in charge of HR, Legal, Accounting, Facilities, IT, Investor Relations and everything that kept the business running. Created and managed Linux, Windows, Mac OS X network with SonicWall firewalls, vSphere and KVM VM hosts, Atlassian toolset, AWS hosting and Active Directory.Shadow Networks was a VC backed, Silicon Valley startup developing a new generation of security solutions that were designed to combat the most dangerous and pervasive threats on Enterprises, Service Providers and Government networks. I managed the relationship between Lithium Exploration Group and the company that developed a unique solution that could be applied to solution mining and water treatment to the oil and gas industry. Developed, researched and presented reports to stakeholders and investors that detailed the company's plans. Identified market opportunities and organized the company to enter new markets and revenue opportunities. By marketing the technology in the oil and gas industry, I was instrumental in the closing of the company's first sales agreements.

Secured investors and a hotel management company to convert a Palo Alto assisted living facility into an 85-room boutique hotel. I negotiated every aspect of the lease between the parties. The 2011 lease deal executed between JDV Hotels and the owners of Casa Olga was valued at $14.8M. JDV and their investment partners spent an additional $15 to build out the building that opened in March 2014 as the Epiphany Hotel.

Developed and marketed a SaaS text mining tool, built for financial institutions. The tool was designed to help sort, score and rank very large amounts of real time data (in this case, news feeds) to give investment managers more information or the ability to filter news in real time. I developed the marketing plan where I identified the segment of hedge funds who would be customers. The tool needed to be customized and reworked for each installation and I created specifications for the engineering team and functioned as the liaison between the customer's needs and engineering's implementation.

I was on the original team tasked to create a bank based in Moscow, Russia and based on Capital One in the United States. Starting with acquiring a bank to secure the license required to being operations to the successful launch of operations, I delivered on time and under budget. The owner of the bank was determined to have a branchless and ATM-less network and I spearheaded the engagement and implementation of a network of strategic partners who would handle customer payments. The challenge was identifying partners who could not only serve customers in Russia's nine timezones but also handle millions of accounts (as our business plan projected). I built the network and processes/systems that continue to operate today.
