In the past three years, over 75,000 North Carolina preschoolers have been screened through this program. In 2010-2011, 24,071 children were screened, and approximately 9% were referred for follow-up care from an eye care professional.PBNC offers photo-refractive vision screenings to preschoolers in many North Carolina counties. Last year, approximately 25,000 preschoolers were screened.
