Created and actively participated in volunteer work events, from species identification workshops, to camera traps and habitat management (i.e. controlling bracken, transplanting plants). Assisting both in the field and with data entry on various projects conducted by independent researchers and through the reserve. Co-led the owl & bat survey which was conducted 4x a month. Managed and inputted the owl & bat survey data. Mainly assisted with an ongoing camera trap project and its data management, Sulphur-winged parakeets behaviour research, tree survey and aggression in hummingbirds.

Due to previous experience as a trainer, I learned and developed quickly in the role and eventually became a leader. As a leader my duties included training new employees and being responsible for the floor staff of that shift and reporting any problems to the manager. Not only did I help my Japanese colleagues improve their English, and thus communication with guests, but my Japanese language skills also improved immensely.

I was a babysitter whose main job was to introduce and converse in English with children anywhere from 2-10 years in a non-stressful and comfortable environment. The way each child was to learn was dictated by the goals of the parents, but through consistent discussion of progress with each parent we would modify and adapt to how the child was doing.
