My Name is Aksel-Johan Andersen and I am 26 years old.My yourney of experience started onboard a ship called Logos Hope where I was the Deck Cadet for 6 months and was soon hired as Third Mate, gaining experience in this role for 13 months. I was than promoted as Second Mate before I left and served in this role for 2,5 months. My main jobs onboard the vessel was ECO – Environmental Control Officer & TO – Training Officer for the 400 crew/staff. Due to low manning, my last 3 months onboard, I was also placed in charge of the maintenance of all LSA & FFE Equipment (Life Saving Appliance & Fire Fighter Equipment). This vessel was a great start to learn Leadership skills, responsibility, task orientation and Ship safety.After my time onboard the Logos Hope I have been working both as “Chief Mate, 2nd Officer & AB” on different vessels in Norway and worldwide. I gained a lot of knowledge & experience from the last years as it came with its own challenges (Covid 19). But I am pleased to say that all my experiences have helped and shaped me to be a better version of myself and made plenty of room for growth, and for that I am excited.
