Technical ConsultantUnmanned Aerial Vehicles Austin Jul 2018 - Jan 2019Austin, Texas AreaI oversaw the design and construction of the aircraft for the 2017-2018 AUVSI competition. We worked closely with composite materials , electronics, and various softwares including XFLR and Solidworks to simulate our drone. Our objective is to ensure fully autonomous flight, ground image recognition, and safe delivery of a designated payload at a GPS location. Our process is an iterative method that involves the entire design process from conceptualization to CAD and finally physical construction .Through my experience at UAV, I have developed a strong appreciation for unmanned systems. I started off as the Ground station operator at the 2017 competition where we placed 15th of some 55 teams internationally. During the 2018 season, I served as the mechanical lead, overseeing the construction of a flight ready fixed wing aircraft. I also served as the primary interface between the team and judges at the competition. The UAV team placed a record breaking 6th out of 69 teams internationally in 2018 AUVSI exponential. In the 2019 season, I moved to a consultant role, offering technical and non-technical advice in topics ranging from plane design and construction to corporate relations and ground station interface. -

Autonomous Aerial Systems InternSparkcognition Jan 2018 - Aug 2018At SparkCognition I had the opportunity to collaborate with a team of 4-6 talented individuals to build an unmanned system and ensure the timely execution of deliverables to ensure our project stayed on task. Some of my contributions included researching and implementing a new composite manufacturing process. After several months of iterations, my colleague and I established the company procedure for creating large parts for varying applications. I also oversaw much of the manufacturing of components for developmental aircraft, including CNC milling, woodworking, and optimization/maintenance of up to six 3D printers simultaneously. In addition, I worked heavily with the avionics of several flight systems from both a design and hands on perspective. • Spearheaded and rapidly developed resin infusion manufacturing process over the course of six months, establishing company procedure, and providing a foundation for all future composite manufacturing • Played a major role in design, fabrication, and assembly of VTOL UAS to carry 50-pound payload 30 miles • Analyzed and resolved logistical and technical issues from aircraft assembly and part manufacturing to field operations • Designed and implemented heavy amp draw avionics systems, resulting in successful operation of all subsystems -
