Producer Akshay Bhatia is a Georgia born, Atlanta-based filmmaker and film worker. He has built a reputation for himself and a network of connections in the expanding Georgia independent film scene over the past several years, having served in a variety of crew roles on various projects, including Everbliss Inn, produced by The Blair Witch Project co-director Dan Myrick. He most recently served as Francis Ford Coppola's personal assistant and directorial apprentice on Megalopolis, having followed the project since pre-production all the way through to completion, and having aided in directing and writing scenes for the film. During the shoot, he apprenticed under Roman Coppola, director of the second unit, working most frequently with him to help rehearse the many practical special effects in the film. Beyond that, he also aided Mike Figgis as a cameraman on the yet-to-be-released documentary on the making of Megalopolis.
