Developed a solver in OpenFOAM for simulating the ventilation and transport of CO in a multi-level car parking space.This solver was used to predict the transport of CO generated inside a car parking space with multiple levels for parking. The solver could accept source term values for each level of the car park and predict its concentration evolution with time.Used bash scripting to automate the task of case folder creationModified an existing GUI using Qt and bash scripts to run the newly developed solver for CO transport simulations.Also involved in the development of a GUI for multiple CFD simulations based on OpenFOAM using Qt and PySide.

Involved in numerical modelling of Aluminium smelting pot using OpenFOAM to create a PINN model to predict and improve Aluminium production.Numerically modeled the flow of a high pressure, high viscous fluid in a micro channel in OpenFOAM. The geometry creation and meshing was carried out in SALOME.Numerically modelled a tube furnace to estimate the heat transfer efficiency and temperature distribution in the heating domain.

Collaborated in an Industrial Project for Saint-Gobain to enhance the combustion characteristics of the biomass fuel used in a batch reactor.

Numerical modeling of gas turbine spray cleaning process. (Industry Project - Baker Hughes) IIT MadrasNumerical investigation of flat fan spray in high-speed co-flowing air for gas turbine online water washing application.A sector of the gas turbine bell mouth was designed and modelled with high-speed air flow and spray injection.Structured hexahedral meshing was done in ICEM CFD.All the simulations were carried out in Ansys Fluent.UDF (User defined function) was used to specify the boundary condition.The continuous phase was modelled using Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes(RANS) EquationThe turbulence effect in the continuous phase was modelled using sst k-ꙍ turbulence model. The effects of flow separation at the bends were well captured using a non uniform refined grid and by maintaining a y+ value below 1. The spray was modelled using DPM ModelTaylor analogy breakup (TAB) model was used for modelling the droplet break-up and Kuhnke model was adopted for spray wall interactionsBacklight imaging and Particle image velocimetry (PIV) experiments were carried out to determine the droplet size and velocity. Air velocity was measured using a pitot tube.Droplet velocity and mean diameters were measured and the numerical model was validated against the experimental resultsThe best injector and the best location of the injector for the most effective cleaning were determined
