As a sustainability data intern at MetrikFlow, a company that provides carbon footprint calculation and reporting solutions for businesses, I performed the following duties:• Actively participated in three projects - Product Environmental Footprint, GHG Emissions, and Tech Development - conducting thorough research and ensuring strict compliance with PEF standards and databases using statistical and scientific methods.• Efficiently automated product lifecycle impact assessment calculations for PEF databases using openLCA IPC Server and Python, and seamlessly generated GHG Emissions reports from Google Sheets to Docs using Google Apps Script.• Cooperatively collaborated with a diverse team to generate and analyze data using project management and task tracking tools such as Jira and Asana.• Scraped, cleaned, and manipulated client’s product data and prepared the data for the calculation of carbon footprint, and performed data cleaning and manipulation for CO2 emissions data tables (69 million+ rows) for passenger cars using SQL and Python.• Contributed to the company’s fabric types dataset by preparing the data and helped the team to efficiently organize data for use in the Carbon calculation tool.• Demonstrated front-end development and UI/UX enhancement skills by building a weather information app using React, TypeScript, and MaterialUI. Additionally, created an ROI calculator using HTML and CSS, which has been successfully incorporated into the company’s website.The purpose of this position was to improve the quality and efficiency of sustainability data analysis and automation for MetrikFlow by applying various technical skills and tools. The following tasks were completed:• Conducted extensive research and analysis on the hydrological characteristics of the Wairau River catchment, including data collection, processing, and visualization• Utilized advanced statistical methods, such as Bayesian model averaging and Monte Carlo simulation, to account for uncertainty in the hydrological models• Developed and implemented the ensemble modelling framework• Validated the ensemble models using a range of performance metrics and compared their results with other commonly used models• Presented the study's results in a Master's thesis, highlighting the importance of incorporating uncertainty into hydrological models and the potential benefits of using an ensemble modeling approach.The aim of this study was to improve the accuracy of hydrological modelling in the Wairau River catchment by accounting for uncertainty through the use of an ensemble modelling approach.The results of the analysis showed that the ensemble modelling framework improved the accuracy of hydrological models in the Wairau River catchment. The advanced statistical methods used in the ensemble modelling framework reduced uncertainty and produced more accurate results compared to other commonly used models. The study's results highlighted the importance of incorporating uncertainty in hydrological models to improve their accuracy and reliability.

The objective was to reduce processing time and streamline the workflow for acquiring and processing meteorological data for use in the Global BROOK90 package.The results of the analysis showed that the download and processing module improved the efficiency of data acquisition and processing in the Global BROOK90 package. The use of Web Browser Automation reduced the processing time by 60%, making it a more efficient and effective tool for acquiring and processing meteorological data. The data processing function worked seamlessly with netCDF-4 extension files, enabling easy integration of acquired data in the Global BROOK90 package.
