During my internship at The Red Users, I gained hands-on experience in network and web application security. My primary responsibilities included:• Network Security Basics: I researched common network threats and implemented foundational security measures, such as configuring firewalls, enabling network encryption, and monitoring network traffic using Wireshark. I analyzed HTTP, DNS, and other traffic types to detect potential security risks.• Web Application Security: Using OWASP ZAP and WebGoat, I performed vulnerability assessments on web applications, identifying SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities. I documented my findings, including recommended mitigation steps.This internship strengthened my technical skills and deepened my understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
