After an 18 year career in the mechanical engineering field I migrated to the IT sector in which I have been gainfully employed since 1999. Since 2004 I have been a work from home professional and I am currently employed with illumifin as a Sr. IT Specialist; DBA; SQL Developer providing database administration, development services, and miscellaneous back end support for a web based application tailored to the group and life insurance industries. I have experience in systems design, programming, and administration of internet and windows based applications. My primary responsibilities and stronger skill sets focus on database administration and I find myself quite comfortable when involved in relational database modeling and development tasks. Support for SaaS clients has included ETL processing which has provided the opportunity to engage SSIS and Talend Open Studio for Data Integration. More recent responsibilities include setup and configuration of SQL Server Replication processes to provide alternative sources for client reporting.Since my work responsibilities limit my exposure to a relatively small number of technologies I attempt to hone the skills that I currently have and learn new skills by engaging in various learning activities. I completed several online courses for topics such as SQL Server, Java, Android Development, PHP / MySQL, Oracle, Wordpress, Spring and other technologies. Naturally, since I don't engage with these technologies on a regular basis I would not consider myself proficient with them but I do have high level knowledge of them.In the past I developed and maintained a website for the church I attended which provided me the opportunity to engage PHP, MySQL, Wordpress and PhotoShop.
